During the 150th year celebrations of Swami Vivekananda, here is some good news from Sri Lanka. Sri Wigneswaran of Tamil National Alliance, who will be the Chief Minister of Northern Provincial Council soon, is the National President of Swami Vivekananda 150th Jayanthi Celebrations Committee.

In the first regional elections in the island of Sri Lanka, his Tamil National Alliance (TNA) swept all five districts of Northern Provincial Council. The TNA bagged 30 out of a total of 38 seats. Sri Sampanthan, President of TNA, reiterated TNA’s commitment to the evolution of a political solution within the framework of a united undivided country. That being the ground reality, jarring voices in Tamilnadu parroted that the election outcome is a victory for separate ‘Tamil Eelam’ demand.

    Wish Tamilians a peaceful life
At last elections have been held and Mr Vigneswaran has been elected as the Chief Minister, thanks to the democracy. It is the time for Mr.Rajapakshe to recognize the sentiments of Tamils and give them all rights equal to the sinhalese. The political parties in Tamilnadu should also refrain from making politics out of Srilankan issue any more. Let our tamil brothers live peacefully in the united Sri Lanka
