Defamation of Hindu Deities – Letter to Facebook Chief Executive
Dear Ms. Sheryl Sandberg,
I am taking the liberty of addressing this message to you on behalf of almost a billion Hindus – living within India and outside.
We are truly taken aback to see that a page has been created by some malefactor scoundrels on Facebook in which
Hindu gods and goddesses are denigrated in a most malevolent and hateful manner.
It portrays Lord Krishna as ‘impotent’ and Sita as ‘prostitute’. Further, disgusting, morally offensive, obscene images of Hindu deities have been uploaded on the page.
In one picture, Lord Sri Ramchandra and Lord Hanuman are shown urinating and in another, a dog is shown as Hindu’s god.
In the picture of ‘Three Idiots’ Sri Ganesh, Maharshi Vyas and Godess Durga have been depicted.
I am among the millions of ardent, devout Hindus who are outraged and consider this as an affront and apparent disregard to our sensitivities and to our faith.
Already, I hear that Hindu organisations in India, USA and elsewhere are planning legal recourse. I also understand that the press and media are being set in motion.
I thought I should write to you immediately & seek your help and understanding in removing this page from facebook.
I look forward to hearing from you.
With best regards,
Mohan Murti
Namaskar to All !

A page has been created by some miscreants on Facebook on which Hindu gods and goddesses are denigrated in a most malicious manner. It describes Srikrushna as ‘impotent’ and Sita as ‘prostitute’. Obscene photos of Hindu deities have been uploaded on the site. In one picture, Sri Ramchandra and Hanuman are shown utinating and in another, a dog is shown as Hindu’s god. Â
It is high time all ardent Hindus registered protest with Facebook management and ask it to delete the page. As per the procedure, when maximum number of protests are received by Facebook management, it removes the page.
Â
The Hindus should use the following links to request Facebook to remove the page.
Â
1) Go to http://www.facebook.com/pages/EveryBody-Draw-Gando-Gay-Ramkrishna-and-Randi-Sita-and-all-Bhagwan-Photos/131078843628810
Â
2) Click on ‘Report page’ option which is on the left side.
Â
3) Click on ‘Contains hate speech or attacks on individual’.
Â
4) Click on ‘targets a religious group’.
Â
5) Click on ‘Submit’
Â
All ardent and devout Hindus are requested register protest in the above manner in large numbers and compel the Facebook management to remove the page.
Â
Such a strong action will go a long way in controlling the fanatics of other faiths who disrespect Hinduism and stoop too low for denigrating our Deities.
