Correcting the Aussies

Attacks on Indian students in Australia is increasing and now reports are coming in of such attacks in Canada also. The Aussie government seems to be treating the matter lightly. Anyway they are not like our pseudo-secular politicans to make a hue and cry about ill treatment meted out to minorities (Indian students are minority in Aussie land).

There are about a lakh of Indian students there. A vast majority of them have taken bank loans from our Banks, these are all Indian tax payer’s tax money. Why should we spend such precious money on third rate Universities, just because they sport a foreign (read White) name tag ?

All that our government has to do is to send a circular to our banks not to grant study loans for Australian Universities. To use a more awesome  white man’s phrase, an ADVISORY should be issued to all Indian students to keep away from Australian Universities till the situation is controlled. This will have a salutary effect on the Aussie government and the Universities there. After all they are hankering after our wealth.

Even during so called normal times the visa granted expires immediately after the course is over, meaning that, once the funds are utilised, immediately the student has to get out. They find it so intolerable to accomodate these poor students for even a few extra month’s. Once we give them a financial pinch they will learn to behave properly.

We must exert pressure on the Indian Government to issue an Advisory not to process Study loans meant for Australian Universities.

Responses
