Bangladesh bans book written by Maududi, The Heart Throb of Kerala Seculars

via HK published on August 20, 2010

Non-Muslims have “absolutely no right to seize the reins of power in any part of God’s earth nor to direct the collective affairs of human beings according to their own misconceived doctrines.” If they do, “the believers would be under an obligation to do their utmost to dislodge them from political power and to make them live in subservience to the Islamic way of life.”Syed Abul Ala Maududi, founder of Jamaat-e-Islami

The Bangladeshi government has ordered mosques and libraries across the country to remove all books written by a controversial Islamic scholar.  According to government-funded Islamic Foundation  books by Syed Abul Ala Maududi encouraged “militancy and terrorism”. Maududi’s writings promote radicalism and his ideological goal was to capture power in the name of Islam says Islamic Foundation Director-General Shamim Mohammad Afjal . Bangladesh government has now ordered nearly 24,000 libraries attached to mosques to remove his books immediately. Some have already started to do so.

It is with these Maududian followers CPM had poll pact all these years and the Congress lead UDF is now trying to woo them through Muslim league .  When will so called Secular Hindus in Kerala  ask themselves why a Nationalist party like BJP is politically untouchables and a Anti National party like Jamaa’t Islami the heart throbs of these Secular parties?
