Fatwa against Onam celeberations in Schools

Kozhikode:Pookalam (Floral carpets) competitions are organised across the state from Educational institutions to Government offices as part of Onam celeberations. Jihadi groups in Kerala since last several years are waging a covert war against Onam festival, for them it is too much to digest that why the whole state celeberate Onam.

In Calicut girls Higher Secondary school, following threatening and opposition from Three teachers School authorities were forced to cancel Pookalam competition. The opposition came from three Jihadi teachers , According to them such competitions are against their Islamic law.

As the news leaked, DYFI cadres in the area raised to the occassion ( HK – Had always criticized DYFI for it’s pseudosecularism, but congratulate them in this case) and protested inside School campus against the School’s decision to succumb to Jihadi pressure. Following protests, Staff council decided to conduct the competition today
