Lucknow : After restraining women from working as receptionists, the leading Islamic seminary, Darul Uloom, Deoband, has issued a ‘fatwa’ against designer burqas (veil worn by Muslim women).
Not only this, the seminary has said that selling designer burqa amounts to promotion of fashion, which is against Islam and promotes sin.
The ‘fatwa’ was issued on a question asked by a businessman who wanted to start selling decorated burqas of various designs and colours.
“Is it lawful as per Islam to sell decorated burqas of various designs and colours?†the businessman had asked.
