Did the NaMo Govt. issue the ‘Hindi Memo’ ?

published on June 22, 2014

The NaMo Govt. was sworn in on the evening of 26 May 2014.

The Union Home Minister and his MoS assumed charge of the Home Ministry on 29 May 2014.

The memo on Hindi was issued on 27 May 2014.

All these dates are FACTS.

That being the case, did the NaMo Govt. issue the ‘Hindi Memo’ ?

Was it possible for the Govt. to move at the speed of lightning to issue the memo, on the day after the swearing-in ceremony ?

Defies logic.

This being the case, I am reminded of the adage ‘ History repeats itself ‘.

Lets rewind to the period 1998-’99, when the then NDA Govt. under Vajpayee was in harness.

The media, regrettably, went into a ‘Secular Overdrive’ then, in an effort to ‘blacken’ the ‘communal’ Vajpayee Govt. !!

As Arun Shourie wrote :

” If you had been in India in late 1998 – early 1999, and the English language ‘national’ newspapers had been your source of information about what was going on, you would have concluded that an extensive, well – coordinated pogrom was on, that maniacal Hindu groups were going round raping nuns, attacking missionaries, burning down churches”.

So ‘Minorities’ then. Now ; Hindi.

Common Factor : ‘secularly’ tarnish the image of the NDA Govt. !!

Indian Express had published on 29 June 2004 an excellent Opinion entitled :

” Secular Hoot and Scoot : Tell Lies and Run Away “.

Said it all.

The Aam Aadmi, today, has diverse sources from which he can collect information as also authenticate them unlike 1998.

Hope the media understands the changed circumstances !
