A Madrassa Scam in the Offing?
There are reports of discrepancy worth crores behind the madrassa education system. The latest CAG report has alleged that there has been swindling of crores from the funds allotted by the Centre, meant for madrassa renovations. The findings have come to light in the report submitted in the legislative assembly.
According to sources, an amount of Rs 14.68 was allotted in 2010- 11, for the renovation of 547 madrassas. Out of these, 108 madrassas are said to have received the amount. However, audit reports show ample discrepancies, which have revealed that madrassa tutors have not received the required training.Â
