A serving Chief Secretary of the Kerala Government has created a sensation by emphasising the need to evangelize the whole of India ! As a follower of the Malankara Orthodox Church, he goes on to state that it is his bounden duty to help all efforts to evangelize our country.

This IAS officer, Mr.Jiji Thomson is an accused in a corruption case, yet by using his religious clout, he managed to become the Chief Secretary. It is unfortunate that the Central Vigilance Commission’s clearance is not needed in State government appointments, so corrupt officers can have a smooth career.

This is the problem when corrupt officers are posted at the helm of affairs. He has injected communalism into the bureaucracy to divide the officers based on religion. How will this officer maintain the Constitutional mandate for maintaining Equality. How will he not discriminate on the basis of religion ? Is it not a danger to have such crass communal elements on top of the administration?

Predictably, the media is tight lipped, all political parties are silent. Simultaneously all Kerala politicians and media are taking up cudgels against Shri. Vellappaly Natesan who is championing for Hindu unity.

Vellappaly Natesan exposed the fouble standards of Kerala government and questioned the undue advantages Muslims were getting in Kerala. A government is supposed to act with equanimity. How can people have confidence in such biased functioning ?

There needs to be a more aggressive approach by Hindus to safeguard their country. When converts are posted to high posts, double checks are needed to verify their secular credentials. Fundamentalists like Mr.Jiji Thomson should have no place in the bureaucracy.
