Preaching Anti-Terrorism: The Latest Conversion Ploy of Jihadists

Kottayam: The latest ploy of Jihadists in luring those of other religions, especially Hindus to the Islmaic fold is two pronged- giving lengthy discourses against terrorism and talking lofty about Islam and its prophet. The move is being aimed at mass conversion, where many are actually getting enticed.

According to sources, most of these talks and discourses are centred on colleges and hostels. The presenter takes ample examples from Vedas, Ithihasas, Upanishads and Puranas to decipher them maliciously. They are then compared with examples from Quran, where the latter is glorified and the former denounced. Those who have smattering or little knowledge about Hindu philosophy or literature are easily swayed and fall into the trap.

“The talks denounce terrorism, which is actually luring bait. But behind the scenes the aim is conversion to Islam. Talks against terrorism are being delivered in public places to enamour people, which actually get many from other religions, especially Hindu religion, flocking to listen. At the end of each discourse, listeners are urged and encouraged to ask questions ad clear any doubt they have. Details about non- Islamic listeners are gathered and a slow brainwashing is done to lure them,” said sources.

More girls and young women are being taken into this task by Jihadists and trained accordingly, in order to execute the task successfully among Hindu girls in schools, colleges and hostels.

“The methodology is well planned and quite psychological. These people first speak about Hindu seers, Puranas and other sacred texts and do a comparison with Quran as part of casual conversation. That is how they establish a congenial rapport. The way they talk soon starts inciting a curiosity in Hindu minds about their deities, venerated seers and divine heads. Then arrives an ‘ustad’ into the picture who, ‘sets right’ ‘any confusing thought’. These sessions later pave way for invitation to religious studies and observances. It rests with religious conversion of the hapless victim to Islam,” revealed sources.

It has also been revealed that those converted thus are allowed to continue in their Hindu fold, but with severe restrictions imposed on observance of various cultural and religious activities, including entering temples and praying there.

These Jihadist predators are also known to segregate families who are prone to be converted to Islam, from their other relatives who are likely to coerce them otherwise. Activities of these kind are said to be centred in northern districts like Malappuram and Kasargode.
