Sudarshan TV becomes 24×7 Hindi news channel

via www.organiser.orf published on February 27, 2007

Sudarshan TV was granted recognition for news and current affairs channel last year. But due to some provisional recognitions, the management launched the channel on small scale through the foreign Thaicom 3 Satellite. Despite being on small scale, Sudarshan TV developed a widespread network in the country. In order to create an efficient and well-organised network of correspondents, the channel established its offices in foreign countries too.

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry, having reviewed all these developments, granted permanent recognition to Sudarshan TV Channel Limited on February 8, 2007. The management, with all the resources at its disposal, decided to broadcast the Sudarshan TV as a 24×7 national Hindi news channel and the channel has started its broadcast. Sudarshan news channel is being beamed through Government of India’s ISRO INSAT 4A Satellite. It is free-to-air channel and will easily be available to viewers.

Sudarshan TV has used the latest technology for broadcasting. For the first time in India, the channel has used Spain’s “Three-D Virtual Set” for news. Also by using Dolby Sound System, the Sudarshan channel’s sound effect quality is equivalent to that of DVD and Home Theatre. Equipped with the state-of-the-art technology, Sudarshan TV has now become 100 per cent cassette-less channel. There will be no use of cassette in camera, news shooting, editing, etc. This is not only cost-effective but will also help broadcast high-class digital picture. The management of the channel emphasises that the main objective of the channel is to advocate the causes of the common man and thus it will be their channel.  (FOC)
