Ayodhya and our ‘Secular’ Media

“OBFUSCATING THE TRUTH”- LETTER TO INDIAN EXPRESS

Dear Sir,

The Article ‘BJP’s TEMPLE Index‘(TNIE-05 Apr) is one more exercise in a long list of obfuscation of the ‘truth’ in the Ayodhya  controversy.

A simple legal case of a land title that started during the colonial period, continues to drag in our courts todate!!Speaks volumes about our justice delivery system! And then the ‘secular brigade’ stepped in the 1980s and obfuscated the issue further by asking for proof of a temple! Till that point in time, the much respected former director of the ASI,Dr.B.B.Lal,was the darling of the secular brigade.But,lo and behold, the moment he discovered the remains of a Hindu temple beneath the ‘disputed structure’, during his excavations, in the 1970s-he became ‘COMMUNAL’! And when in pursuance of the of the directives of the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court in 2003, the remains of another Hindu Temple were found, once again beneath the ‘disputed structure’,using side-scan radar, the ‘secular’media indulged in an exercise of ‘economy with TRUTH’.

Given our national characteristic of an inability to face inconvenient
truths, the Ayodhya controversy remains unresolved todate!!The Chandrasekhar govt.tried to bring the two parties to the dispute to the negotiating table.It failed becuse the AIBMAC,aided and abetted by the ‘seculars’, walked away! The reason-they couldn’t rebut the points made by the VHP in their brief!!

When the foregoing is the sordid truth,which,regrettably,has never has seen the light of day in the secular English media, such Articles as the current one, can best be described as ‘Profiles in Deception’. This also happens to be the title of the book written by the scientist turned historian, Dr,N.S.Rajaram, on the same subject! CHEERS!!
