KOZHIKODE: The CPM wants to take control of judiciary and media to implement ‘cell rule’ in the State, alleged BJP leader and former state president Adv.P S Sreedharan Pillai.
â€The attack against the judiciary and the media by party leaders including its state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan is a part of this hidden agenda which is a big threat to democracyâ€, he told reporters while issuing an open letter to Pinarayi Vijayan here on Saturday.
He said the CPM, ‘which had already taken control of the executive and legislature’, was now engaged in a ‘shadow war’ against the remaining two pillars of democracy. “CPM’s planned campaign and threats against judiciary and media are in violation of the Constitution,†he said.
Citing the CPM’s support to nullify the impeachment of Justice Ramaswamy, who was found guilty of corruption, in Parliament in 1993, Pillai said the party now had no right to talk about corrective measures.
â€Demonstration against court, campaign against judges, burning them in effigy and the street trials will destroy the credibility of judiciary.â€
The BJP leader, who has sent the open letter in his capacity as the Vigil Human Rights coordinator, urged the CPM to end the attack against judiciary.
