CPM and Kerala media mum on one-crore-rupee bribe taken by comrade!

via HK Correspondent published on June 24, 2007

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM – Though the CPM leadership always claims themselves as corruption-fighters, they are keeping silence on the one-crore-rupee bribe taken by CPM leader and Deshabhimani’s deputy general manager G. Venugopal.

How many party leaders are involved in this scam? No CPM leader is ready to speak openly on the issue because of fear of the party’s state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan.

Venugopal, a close confidant of Pinarayi, was suspended from the party yesterday after he admitted having accepted a one-crore-rupee bribe from LIS chairman P.V. Chacko.

Not surprisingly, the entire visual media of Kerala is silent on the issue. They gave it the minimum coverage since it is not a ‘serious issue’ for them. Or, may be Pinarayi has terrorized them into silence.
