Christian Imitators – IV

via GSK Menon published on October 20, 2007

It is common to see converts holding processions carrying Christian idols on palanquins and chariots (like in Tamilnadu imitating Hindus) or as is the latest fad in Kerala on top of elephants (like Hindus).

These processions are called as “Nagara Pradakshinam”. The concept of pradakshinam or pradakshina is totally alien to the desert religions. The Padres have devised this as a show of their strength and to lure our spineless politicans to lick their boots. Anyway, the purpose of this article is to examine the validity of such practices.

Below is JEREMIAH 10-1-10

This is what the lord says “Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the sky, though the nations are terrified by them. 3For the customs of the peoples are worthless;they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with a chisel. 4 They adorn it with silver and gold; they fashion it with hammer and nails so it will not totter. 5 Like a scarecrow in a melonpatch, their idols cannot speak;they must be carried because they cannot walk. Do not fear them; they can do no harm nor can they do any good. 6 No one is like you, O LORD; you are great, and your name is mighty in power. …………

What can you make out from the above ?

1.Do not make idols

2.Do not carry them around

3.Do not decorate them with gold and silver

And what are our converts being forced to do ?

1.They make Christian idols made of  wood, concrete, marble, gold, silver, clay etc.

2.These idols are being carried around on chariots, palanquins, elephants to the accompaniment of Hindu temple music !

3.Ceremonial temple umbrellas are used to cover the idols.

This is what is called doing nonsense. The desert religion forbids all heathen practices, then how is it that these Padres are making these converts into shameless imitators.

Don’t you agree with me that rather than convert and be a shameless imitator it is better to be an original proud Hindu.
