Tehelka’s ‘discovery’ & Asianet’s News Hour programme

via HK Correspondent published on October 26, 2007

EVEN a child can see that there is nothing new in the latest ‘discovery’ by Congress-CPI(M) supported Tehelka about Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. In fact, why should Hindus be afraid of saying this openly: ‘YES, WE DID RETALIATE IN RESPONSE TO THE MURDER OF 59 INNOCENT DEVOTEES OF SHREE RAM INCLUDING WOMEN AND CHILDREN AT GODHRAH’. If Narendra Modi had not supported Hindus at that crucial time, whom should he have supported — Muslim fundamentalists?

Given bellow are some serious incidents that have happened in India but have not interested Tehelka’s team:

a) Thousands of Hindu activists/RSS men have been murdered in West Bengal by CPI(M) goons over the past 30 years. 90% of the murderers were either not arrested or escaped with the support of state police/government. Recently, a number of farmers were shot dead by the state police itself. The state government did everything to make sure that none of their activists suffer. Is it not because the entire government machinery was used to protect CPI(M) activists?

b) More than 250 RSS activists were murdered in Kerala during the rule of the CPI(M). 80% of the murderers were not arrested or were acquitted by the court due to lack of evidence which was destroyed by the state police as directed by the state government or the party’s local leaders. On many occasions, the CPI(M) government interfered while making FIRs, forced the public prosecutor to appear in court as the ‘advocate’ of the murderers to win the case, as in the Jayakrishnan Master murder case.  Is it not because the whole government machinery was used to protect CPI(M) activists?

c) More than 5,000 innocent Sikhs including women and children were murdered/raped after the assassination of Indira Gandhi in 1984. At that time, the Congress was in power at the centre and in most of the states. After the riots, the Congress government openly supported their activists and destroyed most of the evidence. Is it not because the full government machinery was used to protect the Congress activists?

So, why is the BJP government of Narendra Modi in Gujarat alone measured by different standards by the so-called political analysts and the ‘independent’ media?

‘Independent’ discussion on Asianet News Hour

As usual, Kerala’s hard-core anti-Hindu media made the Tehelka ‘expose’ their top story and did their best to give as much credibility to the seriously doubtful tape as possible.

There was a discussion on this subject in Asianet’s News Hour programme on Thursday 25/10/2007 at 7.30 pm IST. Let us take a close look at the people who participated in this ‘independent’ and ‘impartial’ discussion:

Sr. No.

Name

According to Asianet

His real background

01

Venu

An independent journalist/news anchor

A hard-core CPI(M) man and a product of AKG Centre.

02

Krishnadas

CPI(M) MP

Well-known anti-Hindu. Used to criticize Hindutva blindly whenever he got any chance to speak to any visual media.

03

Sivaramakrishnan

A committed CPI(M) activist, working with the pro-CPI(M) magazine Frontline in New Delhi . Wrote number of articles against Hindu organizations and its leaders. A well known anti- Modi journalist.

04

So Asianet chose three anti-Hindu people in one side and one nationalist leader on the other to conduct this discussion. Can Asianet now claim that it was an independent and fair discussion of the issue? Certainly not.
