200 Lashes to Gang Rape Victim,Courtesy Shariat
Riyadh: Bear the torture and stay back in home-This is the ridiculous and heinous message given out by a Holy Nation of Muslims to their women folks, who are victims of rape!
The civilized society is shell shocked to hear a Islamic Shariat Court’s punishment directed to a gang rape victim of 19 year old. The gang rape victim who initially was ordered to undergo 90 lashes has been sentenced to 200 lashes and six months in jail for telling her story to the news media!
The case has angered members of Saudi Arabia’s Shiite community. The convicted men are Sunni Muslims, the dominant community in Saudi Arabia.The victim’s lawyer was suspended from the case, has had his licence to work confiscated, and faces a disciplinary session.
