Why UPA distorts and hides facts on Nethaji?
The revelation by the Home ministry that it has no information in its records about Nethaji’s contribution to India’s freedom struggle is indeed shocking.
The sixty years of governance after independence has proved beyond doubt, that the Congress party in general and Nehru family in particular has been consistently hiding & distorting the facts about Nethaji for reasons known only to them.
The concerned ‘files’ were also deliberately lost during the previous Congress governments. Even the present government at the centre had the same arrogance to refuse to table the M.K.Mukherjee Commission’s report on Nethaji in the parliament.
Having done that, the UPA government also had the audacity to celebrate the birth anniversary of Nethaji on the 23rd of January, where in our Prime Ministry tried to justify his government’s blunt appeasement policies by saying “equity is not appeasement”. He also waxed eloquent on the Hindu-Muslim unity perceived by Gandhi & Nethaji.
But, no one would have expected that this government would go down to the extent of not keeping any records on Nethaji’s contribution to the freedom struggle. The spineless sycophants of the present cabinet are focused only on glorifying the Nehru family and they are not at all bothered about the other true stalwarts of the freedom movement like Nethaji, Patel, Sarvarkar,Rajaji, et al.
By hijacking the Satyagraha & Salt Satyagraha movements through farce-anniversary shows, the UPA government under the leadership of Sonia, has even started sidelining Mahatma Gandhi. What a shame!
