Vote here to help Sewa International get $50,000 grant
Sewa International has successfully run internship programs as part of Sewa’s Bhutanese Refugee Empowerment. Sewa has done this through its “Get Inspired Houston†and “Get Inspired Atlanta†program mixing American volunteers with the Bhutanese youth. Sewa seeks your support to run such an internship program in the Northeast region as nearly 10,000 Bhutanese refugees have settled in this part of the country through legal immigration. This internship program trains teachers in English as second language (ESL) education, nutrition, resume development, job etiquettes, and basic day-to-day finance thus empowering the Bhutanese refugee community to be on a road to self-sustainability. In an additional track, we will provide leadership development activities to nurture young Bhutanese leaders. We will use the training materials and procedures that have successfully worked with this population in other cities.
