Virat Hindu Sammelan : Swaraj Maidan turned saffron

VIJAYAWADA: The Swaraj Maidan turned saffron on Friday with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) organising ‘Virat Hindu Sammelan,’ an impressive show of strength as part of the centenary celebrations of its chief ideologue MS Golwalkar Guruji.

Four rallies, taken out from Benz Circle, Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Durgapuram, Chuttugunta and Ratham Centre, focused on the themes of patriotism, nationalism, Hindu unity and anti-casteism and were named after eminent personalities from downtrodden communities such as Gurram Jashua, Vemuri Ramji Rao, Vemuri Kurmaiah and Babasaheb Ambedkar.The four rallies culminated at the Swaraj Maidan, where spiritual personalities Viswayogi Viswamji, Venkateswara Yogi Guruji Sivaleela Mata Sri, andothers underscored the need for Hindu unity. RSS organising secretary for Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka Bhagaiah underscored the need for Hindu consolidation and fighting fissiparous tendencies in the name of casteism and caste discrimination.
