NEW DELHI: The VHP on Friday hailed the government’s move to withdraw its controversial affidavit on Lord Ram as victory of the Hindu society and said it will decide next week the next steps of its campaign against the Sethusamudram project.
“It’s victory of Hindu society. Hindu protests have forced the government to backtrack,” said VHP leader Dr. Praveen Togadia.

“We want the government to cancel the Sethusamudram project. We will meet on Tuesday and Wednesday in Delhi to plan our next course of action,” he said.
The VHP leader also welcomed AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa’s comments that there was no need to damage the Ram Setu, an undersea bridge believed to have been built by Lord Ram.
