VHP vows to block Islamic terrorist’s I-Day parade

MADURAI: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) cadre have threatened to block the proposed parade of one of the Islamic terrorist organization in Tamil Nadu Manitha Neethi Pasarai (MNP) if the latter goes ahead with its plan in spite of the police ban.

Madurai district president of VHP, Chinmaya Somasundaram said on Friday, the outfit had sought police permission to conduct a peaceful public meeting to celebrate Independence Day.

He said the Commissioner of Police had denied permission to both VHP and MNP for organising Independence Day processions. But, due to political compulsions and interferences, the MNP might be allowed to conduct a parade.

He threatened that the VHP would block it. He also said VHP cadre from different districts would converge on August 14 to attend the proposed peaceful meeting.

Somasundaram alleged that the functioning of Popular Front of India, in which MNP was a constituent, had the backing of the ISI and permitting such an organisation can compromise the internal security of the country.

VHP State organising secretary C Kanakarajan said they would intensify Amarnath Shrine agitation with a road-roko on August 13.

Hindu sages and members of Hindu organisations would go on a yatra from November 9 through out the country to create awareness about Ram Janmabhoomi, Ramar Sethu and pollution of river Ganga.
