The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghachalak KS Sudarshan, inaugurating the national seminar on Cultural Nationalism here on Saturday, said  the US efforts towards globalisation by obliterating national boundaries would fail.

“America is now hounding India just like they did to Afghanistan and Iraq. Even Islamic countries which are supposed to resist this move are instead helping it. But the United States of America will fail”, said Sudarshan.

“Different ideologies has tried to bring the whole world under their domination. But all these efforts not only could not obliterate national boundaries but they themselves got divided because of national aspirations of people”, said RSS Sarsanghachalak Sudarshan who pointed out the disintegration of the Soviet Union as an example.

“The needs and requirements of a society are not primarily physical in nature. They are also mental, intellectual and spritual and those who fulfil those necessities become part of the social group”, he said.

“Poets, artists and philosophers get included in that We-group. The territory needed for a particular We-group for living becomes its natural boundary and untimately evolves into their nation”, he said.

“Hindu philosophers had given complete answers to the basic questions regarding world views prevalent today”, he added.

Meanwhile, P Parameshwaran, the Director of Bharatiya Vichara Kendra, who presided over the inaugural function said that nationalism was being debated globally now, after the concept of bipolar world collapsed with fall of the Soviet Union.

“In India, nationalism has not resulted in any conflict, but has always led to harmony and confluence”, P Parameshwaran added.

The two-day national seminar is being organised as part of the birth centenray celebration of second Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) chief Madhavrao Sadashivrao Golwalkar (Guruji).

More than 250 delegates are participating in the seminar. Various eminent personalities including Justice KT Thomas, Saeed Naqvi and P Parameshwaran are among the participants.
