UPA’s 15 point Communal agenda

via HK published on June 23, 2006

As part  of UPA govt.’s Minority pampering, Union Cabinet today approved 15 Point programme for the welfare of Muslims and Christains in the nation. They also decided to earmark 15 per cent of funds in various schemes and programmes for them.It seems our minorities are very much backward Economically, Socially and Educationally and these appeasers had decided to uplift these Poor Minorities!

In order to Uplift them there are special packages to learn and propagate Urdu, Promote more Madrassas and fund them all over the country etc.

By bringing in religion into the allocation of Government funds, the Congress has violated the basic tenets of the Indian Constitution – Secularism. By seeking to draw a separate quota based on religion in funds for development the Congress is committing two cardinal sins. First it is giving institutional credibility to a myth that the Majority religion has grabbed a lion’s share of development funds and that the Minority religions have suffered in the areas of development on account of their smaller population share. The Second sin committed by the Congress Government that it is has Communalized the Indian society further by seeking to talk of prevention of Communal Incident and Prosecution of Communal Offences in the context of Minority welfare thus lending credibility to the other myth by painting the Majority religion as the offender and the Minority religion as the victim.

The Communalization of Development Funds is a dangerous trend. The Communal Politics of the Congress with its emphasis on Communal Riots in the context of Minority Welfare will only further serve to vititate the atmosphere. Rather than preserve the secular nature of development and Law and Order, this move by the Congress will only serve to weaken the secular fabric of the nation and undermine the Indian Constitution
