Two decades after the twin terrorists blasts in Chennai
RSS Chennai observed ‘Martyrs’ Day’ today August 8 – the day on which Chennai RSS Headquarters was blasted by bombs planted by Muslim terrorists in 1993. 11 RSS workers including two women were killed in the blast. The Karyalaya building was destroyed completely. Sangh Adhikaris offered floral tributes to all the 11 killed in the blast.
After a gap of eight months, on Tamil New Years’ Day, 1994, another blast reduced the Hindu Munnani Headquarters in adjoining Chintadripet into rubbles, wherein the terrorist bomber and one Hindu Munnani worker were killed.
In both the blasts, the culprits escaped with meager punishment at the TADA Court. It was identified as the handiwork of Al-Umma, now banned outfit led by Abdul Nassar Madhani. Melapalayam, Madurai, Melur were the places of terrorists who executed the blast.
