published on March 10, 2012

Shock waves prevailed in Karaikudi, Sivagangai District, Tamilnadu, when a senior Swayamsevak Sri Maganlal Mehta attained the lotus feet of the Almighty on 28.2.2012.

As an ordinary person from Rathalam, Madhya Pradesh, came and settled in Karaikudi for his diamond business. He is a dedicated hard working person with shrewd business acumen, accounting skills and depth knowledge of diamonds.

He is a Sangh Swayamsevak for more than 60 years and attends shaka daily.  His residence is the stay place for all Sangh Adhikaris. Guruji also stayed at his residence when he came to Karaikudi to have a darshan of Kanchi Maha Periyava, camping at Ilayathankudi village near Karaikudi.  Maganlal Ji participated in the Satyagraha, when Sangh was banned in 1948 and was imprisoned. He also participated in the Satyagraha on Kashmir issue called by Sangh, in the very early days of his marriage. He also participated in the Kar Seva call for Ayodhya along with his elder son, in his olden days.  Late Khushabav Thackeray guided Shri Maganlal Mehta with his love and affection.

Maganlal Mehta, who is good at drawing, has drawn many pictures including Dr. Hedgewar and Shri Guruji – which was well appreciated.  He is regular reader of Panchajanya, also writes articles in Panchajanya.  Along with important Swayamsevaks, Sri Kuppuramji (Saha Prantha Sanghachalak, Dakshin Tamilnadu) participated in the funeral.
