Tremendous Response to RSS Awareness Campaigns

NEW DELHI: The mass awareness campaign launched by Rashtreeya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as part of the birth centenary year of its second Sarsanghachalak Shri Ghuruji, has received tremendous response. According to Dr. Bajranglal Gupta, national Secretary of Shri Guruji Birth Centenary Year Celebration Committee, over 1.3 lakh people of the national capital belonging to all sections of the society participated in various events organized by the RSS and its associated organizations. The nationwide awareness campaign had begun on February 24, 2006 and would conclude on February 18, 2007 in Delhi. Under the campaign various events are being organized all over the country including intellectual meets, Hindu Sammelans at the block level and harmony meetings. “The output is more than the input”, said Dr. Gupta while talking to media persons in New Delhi about the response to the campaign.


 


He pointed out that the campaign is almost over in Delhi. “Under the campaign 950 intellectual meets, 150 Hindu Sammelans and 72 harmony meetings were organized in various places. Over 35,000 distinguished people including 4,000 women, belonging to various sections of the society participated in these meetings. In the harmony meetings, over 13,000 leaders of various social organizations participated. Besides these meetings, 27 other meetings involving highly distinguished people like ambassadors, scientists, doctors, software engineers, professionals, industrialists, ex-servicemen, etc were also organized” he said. He pointed out that in the Hindu Sammelans over 12.5 lakh people including 3.5 lakh women participated. “It was the biggest ever awareness campaign launched by anyone in Delhi and in which people in such a large number participated. The biggest achievement of this campaign is that people irrespective of their caste, creed, language, religion, political and social background participated unwieldy”, he added.


 


The Hindu sammelans in Mangalore, Bangalore, and Thruanathapuram were a huge success where unprecedented number of Hindus were in attendance. Guruji centenary celebration has succeeded in bringing people together to come to terms with our culture, and broadened and enriched Hindu cultural values. The awareness campaign has aroused the spiritual energy of the nation.
