Matha Siva Chaitanya and Siva Swami said that the Government’s attitude towards the Tirumala issue was in sharp contrast to the speed with which it had responded to the plea from Christians that the assets of the church should be protected.

“The Government acted swiftly and appointed a House committee to look into the issue (of protection of Christian properties). Why don’t the ministers react in a similar way to the demand from the Hindus?”

The samithi demanded prohibition of campaigns by Christian Missionaries in the institutions run by the TTD and also to rename Dharma Prachara Parishad of the TTD as Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad. A white paper on the spending of Hundi collections of Tirumala and immediate withdrawal of the proposed ropeway project to Tirumala were other demands made by the samithi.
