Time to stand up with Swayamsevaks

A WikiLeaks cable quoted Rahul Gandhi as saying that ‘radicalized Hindu groups’ may be a bigger danger than Islamist terrorists. According to leaks of diplomatic cables released by WikiLeaks, Gandhi, son of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and a Lok Sabha member, made his remarks last year to US Ambassador Timothy Roemer. The Guardian also quoted  Rahul Gandhi as telling the ambassador that ‘the risk of a ‘homegrown’ extremist front reacting to terror attacks coming from Pakistan or from Islamist groups in India was a growing concern and one that demanded constant attention’.

On Dec 19th 2010, during the plenary session of the congress party, baseless allegations and irresponsible comments were made on RSS.  

These two incidents should be viewed with seriousness. The remarks made by Rahul Gandhi to a foreign country’s ambassador is highly irresponsible and against the interests of our mother land. We all need to remain vigilant against terrorism, and terror attacks from other countries, and fighting terrorism is the duty of every Indian.  In this context, it is the proud duty and responsibility of every Indian to be part of a ‘homegrown’ front reacting to external terror attacks or to the groups who join hands with those terrorists from within the country. In fact, one of the most efficient ways to fight against terrorism is to make their citizen act against it.

The Hindus of this nation, especially the Swayam Sevaks, whos daily prayer includes ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jay’ have been doing this duty, and that is one force which unites and keeps this land secure. If any politician is having a feeling that this is a ‘risk’ then his true interests and patriotism are in question. It becomes highly uncertain that whether persons who make such statements are speaking and working for our country’s interest, or whether they are supporting those forces who try to disintegrate our country.  When it comes to fighting terrorism, remaining passive is surely against the interest of the nation and equally wrong as promoting terrorism, especially externally supported terrorism. It appears that he admits that ‘there was evidence of some support for LeT (Islamic terrorist group), inside India’ but he does not feel that it is a threat!! This is a highly dangerous attitude, and cannot be taken lightly. A person who is in power  (Lok Sabha member, and from a member of a party in power) is knowingly closing his eye about the evidence for growing Islamic terrorism – this shows that the secularism which is being advocated here is only pseudo-secularism, to the extent that it is now becoming passive against Islamic terrorism.

Any true citizen of this country cannot be blind and silent on this. When the sons and daughters of this nation, are fighting against terrorism, we should realize that they are working for the integrity of this nation, and we should support them and be part of that mission. Till date, Swayam Sevaks and Sevikas are doing this mission with true will power and selfless attitude.  The Swayam Sevaks have been taking integral part in social movements towards the development of our country. They are also distinguished for their selfless services at the time of calamities, war situations (for instance, during the 1962 Chinese invasion) and for their service programs in the areas of education, health care, tribal uplift etc etc. They have been vigilant against all the threats to national integrity. 

No one can doubt the Patriotism of RSS.  They are the men and women who follow Swami Vivekananda’s words that Bharat Mata is Goddess for us, and our prime aim should be the progress and growth of our country. Any statement, which is against the integrity and progress of our motherland should be condemned and strongly objected.  We should stand with the Swayam Sevaks to fight against all baseless and untrue political allegations. Moreover, we should be uniting with those true patriots to continue reacting to terror attacks coming from outside or from Islamist groups within the country.
