Tickets on sale for Narendra Modi’s August rally in Hyd.

“While the other political parties pay for the audience for the rallies, here is a case where the youth of the state buy tickets to listen to their favourite leader. Such is Modi’s charisma, and we are trying to drive the point home,” said NVSS Prabhakar, state BJP general secretary.

Hyderabad, July 15: The BJP has decided to sell tickets for Rs 5 each for Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s public rally organised here on August 11. The rally, Modi’s first in southern India after he became the chief of his party’s election campaign committee, was originally scheduled for July 27 but was later postponed due to the ensuing rural polls in Andhra Pradesh. Local BJP leaders said they expect around 50,000 people to turn up on the occasion at the Lal Bahadur Stadium here. It will also mark the beginning of the BJP’s poll campaign in south India for the 2014 elections.

Only those belonging to the age group 18-40 will be given entry and the process through registration has already begun online. The rally is expected to begin around 4 pm. Local leaders Kishan Reddy, M Venkaiah Naidu and Bandary Dattatreya will a.so be presenyt on the occasion. Modi is expected to address a farmers’ rally at Rajamundri in Andhra region in September and another big rally in Rayalaseema region.
