Terrorist Afzal Hanged
NEW DELHI: Jihadi Terrorist and Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru has been hanged in Delhi’s Tihar jail at 8am on Saturday morning, Union home secretary said.
Afzal Guru was given the death sentence by the Supreme Court in 2004. His hanging, scheduled for October 2006, was suspended or delayed as part of minority pampering policies.
In December 2001, five heavily-armed terrorists drove into the Parliament complex and opened fire. Nine people were killed, most of them members of the security forces. The terrorists were shot dead.
Guru’s hanging has been welcomed by the BJP as well as families of those who were killed in the 2001 attack. Narendra Modi tweeted in response to this glad news – Better late than never. If it was not for the Nationalists and Patriots Afzal Guru’s execution might have continued to be a blot on our Nation. No other Nation should have shown this much sympathy to a terrorist who attacked it’s own parliament with the support of Pakistan.
