Terror strike on Holi day averted, Delhi police nab two Hizb militants
A major terror strike has been averted in the national capital, with Special Cell of Delhi Police detaining two suspected terrorists from the Old Delhi area. The suspectedmilitants have been nabbed in a raid on Thursday night. A huge cache of arms and ammunition have also been seized.
According to sources, the strike was planned on 27 March, when India would be celebrating Holi. “Terrorists had recced parts of Delhi and planned to carry out strikes on Holi, which falls on 27 March,” said sources.
Following a tip off Liyakat Shah, a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist who was arrested recently from Gorakhpur, the Special Cell raided a guest house in the Jama Masjid area last night, where the suspected terrorists, believed to be Kashmiris have been arrested.
The cache of arms and ammunition seized includes AK-47 rifles. Police have sealed the room following the detentions.
