Temple Looter’s facing ‘God’s Wrath’

via HK Correspondent published on May 16, 2007

Temple break-ins, Temple staff murders, loot of Idols and God’s money is happening all over Andhra Pradesh with unfailing regularity just as in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.  Here is just a sample of what happens when one indulges in such activities with tacit approval of the government and active support of ‘other’ faith practitioners.

The gang consisted of it’s leader, Venkata Narasimhachari, K.Kiran Kumar, Harinath, N. Kondala Rao, V. Siva Kumar, V. Mastan, G.Balachander, D.Venkatarao and Nayab Rasool. They stole Panchaloha idols from Lord Siva temple at Gattupalli, Nellore District and Sri Venugopalaswamy Temple at Chenchuganipalem of Kavali mandal on February 21st. They thought they made a killing and can do many more, but just look at their fate as widely reported in the media in Andhra:

After the loot, they didn’t know how to sell the idols and decided to melt the gold.  They used acid for the act and eventually some of the idols were reduced to ash.A week later, the gang leader Venkata Narasimhachari died in sleep for no apparent reason. Soon after, Kiran Kumar met with serious road accident and Harinath is reduced to bed in one more accident.  The gang is in total panic now. All of them are having nightmares of the stolen idols staring at them eversince. All of them have fallen sick. Unable to withstand this nightmare, they buried the idols, since recovered by the police and worth over Rs.50 lacs in the international market. All the gang except Balachander and Venkatrao whose whereabouts are not known have been arrested and produced before the local court on 14th. Even their arrest ‘happened’ without apparent police effort when one of them was caught in a nuisance case and spilt the beans on interrogation.

We hope let this be an eye opener to Temple looters like Kerala Devaswom Minister Sudhagaran as well.
