Chennai: Tamilnadu Government, Today increased the Pension of Ulemas ,  announced Three crore financial assistance for the upkeeping of Mosques and welfare measures for Muslims. In addition to above sops Jayalalitha doubled annual Haj Subsidy as well. Number of beneficiaries under Ulema pension scheme has been increased from 2,400 to 2,600 according to PTI report. According to rise in Pension – Ulemas will now get Rs 1000 instead of Rs 750.

Like Kerala and other South Indian states – Majority of the Temples especially the income generating temples are under the control of temples. Muslims and Church don’t have to face any interference from Government and practice their religious rights freely while Hindus are discriminated against. Rise in Ulema pension alone will will cost Tamilnadu government Rupees 3.12 crore annually.

Main opposition DMK also happily agrees with Government and if there is any opposition it will not be against the pampering measures but saying that it is not enough!
