Taliban goes recruiting in Bihar

Patna (Bihar): The Taliban seems to have found new recruitment ground in Bihar. A video CD designed to incite youth to join the Taliban is being doing the rounds in the rural parts of the state.

The propaganda machine of Taliban has reached Bihar and is targeting Muslim youth of the region, it seems.

Says a resident of Patna, Rajesh, “In rural areas around Patna, CDs are being distributed to to incite the youth.”

A closer look at the images makes it clear the CD is designed to inspire the youth to join the Holy war or jehad. In teh CD, the world’s most wanted man, Osama bin Laden is shown making appeals in the name of Allah.

It’s a motivational CD urging people to join Taliban’s movement and strengthen Osama’s lot. The CD has all the ingredients that may work towards motivating Muslim youth into joining the Taliban.

And though these are being circulated all over the place, everyone except the local administration seems to be aware about the presence of the CD.

However, sources tell CNN-IBN that Army intelligence is aware about this development and headquarters have already been alerted to stop the circulation of the CD.

An initial assessment by the Central intelligence has revealed that some madarsas on the Indo-Nepal border are distributing the CDs.

Says IG, Headquarter Patna, Anil Sinha, “Both the state government and the Central Government know we have porous borders. We’ll analyse the

contents of the CD and decide on an action plan.”

The task before the Government’s intelligence wing seems to be just growing. Till date, Naxal menace was the priority here but now the enemy suddenly seems bigger – an enemy that is sitting across the border – and much needs to be done towards curbing this enemy from spreading its tentacles in this new terrain.
