Surya Namaskar will promote communal discord – Christian body

Bhopal: According to a Christian body from Bhopal Surya Namaskar will promote communal discord in a multi-religious society.

Following the path of Fundamentalist Muslims, Isai Maha Sangh while expressing their opposition towards students participation in the Surya Namaskar held in Madhya Pradesh as part of Vivekananda jayanthi – National youth day. This event is now all set to get recorded in Guinness Book of World Records.

The Keralite Missionary , Isai Maha Sangh convenor told in a statement here that they will approach Guinness World Records authorities asking them not to include the event, as it promotes communal discord in a multi-religious society.

Inspite of Fatwa issued to Muslim students by Fanatic Muslim organisations against taking part in the event, Hundreds of Muslim students came forward on the day to participate in the event.

Alima Khan, a Class X student of the Government Bab-e-Ali school in the walled city said, “We participated in the Surya Namaskar event held in the school despite it being very cold. As it was a collective exercise we enjoyed it and are happy that we are part of the world record team.”
