Support the Noble Venture of Swami Chidanandapuri

This is to inform you about a project we are going to
take. Advaithashramam was established in the year 1992.Ever since it’s
inception, we are working hard to spread the message of sanathanadharma in
general and Vedanta in particular.

 

Monthly Vedanta classes, annual weekly retreat camps,
Upanishad vichara sathrams etc. are going on in the Ashram. Long term
Study-sadhana camps are going on for inmates. They are learning Vedanta
sastra in the traditional way. Now including Brahmacharies and Swamies more than
13 inmates are here. All these are going abreast with other lectures and
classes all over Kerala.So Ashramam activities are going on a rail. 

 

To enter into other service activities in the society, we
instituted Sri Sankara Charitable Trust in the year 2003.The first project of
the Trust was SRI SANKARA BALASADANAM. It was inaugurated on 26th June 2005 by
Poojya Swami Dayananda Saraswathi. Thousands of devotees and more than a
hundred sannyasins attended that function. Now the Balasadanam is accommodating
and looking after 47  boys. All they are  happily staying and
studying. By the wholehearted  co-operation of our society ,the
functioning of the Balasadanam is going smoothly. 

 

At this time we are forced to take another project. Owner of
the land just adjacent to Advaithashramam was to sell that land of 1 acre and a
group came forward to buy it. But seeing the potential future problems we went
in and agreed to buy that land at the price they offered. So an agreement came
into existence and accordingly we have to purchase the land before July 21st. 

 

 After getting the land,
our project is to build

 

(1) an Oldage home for elders who are otherwise
destitute and support less,

 

(2) a Bhakthanivas to accommodate those who wish to spend
their days in Ashramam and

 

(3) a small Hospital.

 

Of these, the fund to build the second project, ie Bhaktha
Nivas will be collected from those who wish to have a flat in their name. It
will cost in between 2.5 to 3 lakhs per flat.

 

We have to find out funds for projects 1 and 3. So many old
people with out any social support are going to old age homes of other faiths
and are experiencing so many difficulties. So to have one as per our culture
and custom is imperative. Let us see. Building to accommodate 30 to 40 people
will do in the beginning.

 

 Here in this village
medical facilities are inadequate. Especially in the night time taking patients
to distant hospitals creates so many problems. So to have a small nursing home,
to give at least primary care, will help much .

 

Along with Balasadanam and proposed Vriddha Sadanam a small
hospital will be of much use. All these will cost much investments, more
than 50 lakhs. But step by step we can work. The urgent task is to get the land
registered. Contributions from those who feel for this noble cause is the only
source. So please realize the urgency of this project and take a part as you
can.
