SIMI terrorists planned to assassinate Advani, Modi

NEW DELHI :

Top intelligent and Police officials confirmed that the arrested SIMI terrorists were planning to assassinate top BJP leaders, L K Advani and Narendra Modi.   

 

Police also said the arrested terrorists including SIMI’s leader Safdar Nagori were training militant cadres for the attack.

 

SIMI’s hand in the 2007 Samjhauta Express blasts is being probed.

 

The SIMI terrorists are currently being interrogated jointly by the Central Bureau of Intelligence, and police units of six other states in Indore. 


Their terror links stretching from Karnataka in the south to Mumbai and Delhi in the north are also being probed.


All those arrested have been remanded to police custody by Chief Judicial Magistrate, S S Thakur, till April 11.

 

The terrorists leaders were arrested after a tip off and a large cache of weapons seized from them during a late Thursday night crackdown in Indore and the neighbouring Dhar district by the MP Police along with Central security agencies.
