Seva Bharathi Child Labour Rehabilitation Program

Climbing a new high in the Child labour rehabilitation programme, Seva Bharathi run Homes Sandipani Awasam, Mahaboobnagar and Madhava Awasam, Gollur have been proud of their children. The two homes from which 4 children have been selected for the bravery awards by the District administration headed by the District Collector. The children have performed extraordinary tasks of bravery. This year the Govt has been considerate with the cause of Child labour highlighting the cause and highlighting the children who have taken a turning point in their life after
being rehabilitated.



Chennakeshawulu:


S/O Ramulu


Age: 14 years


Class: 5th


Village: Makhtal


used to work: Theft in rail, jeep, bus Has a knack in theft and was considered notorious for his small thefts. His parrents had to move away to Gujarat and even there he was the same and they have to come back home to Makhtal, where his life took a turn after his interaction with Seva Bharathi volunteers. The Child now stands first of 300 of his collegues.

Now the kid has won his bravery award for his greatest transformation of his life, and seva Bharathi is proud of him.



Padigae Parameshwar:


S/O Sundaraiah


age :14 years


Class: 6th


village : Ramapuram


used to work: Cleaner in Tata Sumo, jeep, Hotel. People were scared of this kid who was known for his notouriarity for beating anybody and everybody even his elders as well as his school teacher.



It was Seva Bharathi’s Telkapally Residential Bridge course center that has moulded him in to a different personality. He is known for his skill in Swimming, Climbing trees, Running. Saved a Small girl of 3 years age when she accidentally slipped into a a well though a lot of people even elders were just onlookers. Dived into it without a second thought.

Village: Kottapalli,


Used to work : Cattle rearing


 


He scored first in Seva Bharathi’s Talent exam out of 2345 participants, he now stands first in the schools of Rangareddy & Mahaboobnagar districts. In recognition of his efforts in transforming himself & his studies he was selected for the award.



Vamshi
S/o Krishnaiah


Orphan was picked up from the Hyderabad Railwaystation


Village : Addakula


Age: 14 years


Class: 8th


Used to Work: In Hotel, Begging staying in bus n rail stations.


 


He is known for his talents in Games and Sports Long jump, High Jump. He is a very good singer in classical Annamacharya keertanas and won prizes by TTD and stood first in competition. He scored first in Science fair where he projected the ill affects of Eco degradation. He stood first in his class.

The two homes Sandipani and Madhava Awasams have been established after a thorough talent search exam with the help of not just the usual mathematics, general aptitude and other school things but also with a heart to select the talented children suffering in the clutches of the child labour. With the help of volunteers from the teaching fraternity represented by the APUS and the Psychologists association of Hyderabad as well as Seva Bharathi a thorough verification of the financial status has been conducted and the children selected from among them.


 


One more thing that influenced the Volunteers of Seva Bharathi has been the fact that not less than 37% of the Residential bridge school beneficiaries after mainstreaming, whatever the efforts of the volunteers involved are end up back in child labour. To avoid this and bring childhood back to the children Seva Bharathi took up the task of providing rehabilitation and scholarship program for the children at least until 10th class board exams and depending on their interest and talent later.
