Kandhamal: Senior RSS leader Prabhat Panigrahi was shot dead by Maoists- The
paid goons of Church in Kandhamal. The Christian Maoists came in a group, had
blocked the roads to Radiguma village before committing the crime to make it
difficult for the police to reach the spot.
Locals were outraged over this incident and
blocked roads between Kotagada and Rudiguma by putting tree logs. Situation is
tense, but under control, according to the police.
Â
The Panigrahi is the second RSS Swayam
Sevak after 33-year-old Dhanu Pradhan to be killed in the ongoing murder
campaign against Hindu leaders in Kandhamal after the murder of Swami
Lakshmanananda. Â Pradhan was killed on 5
November, 2008, while Swami Laxamananda Saraswati was gunned down on 23 August,
2008.
Â
“This was an act of Church to demoralize tribal Hindus in Kandhamal,†HinduJagaranSamukhyaState
chief Ashok Sahu added. “This is the result of the nexus between the state
government on the one hand and the Christians and Maoists on the other,”
said Subas Chouhan, Bajrangdal leader. “The Maoists have been given a free
run in the area to bump off those working for the interests of Hindus,” he
said. VHP State General secretray GP Rath also blamed the Church for the
killing.
