Senior BJP leader Jana Krishnamurthy passed away

CHENNAI: Senior swayamsevak , BJP leader and former Union Law Minister Jana Krishnamurthy died at a private hospital in Chennai on Tuesday following prolonged illness. Krisnnamurthy was a member of the Rajya Sabha at the time of his demise.

He was 79 and survived by wife, two sons and three daughters.

Krishnamurthy, who was the BJP national president between 2001 to 2002, was undergoing treatment for kidney failure for about two months.


 


Jana Krishna Murthy born in Madurai in May 24 1928, was attracted towards Hindutva by then chief of RSS Guruji Golwalkar.An Active swayamsevak from 1940, took active role in the starting of Bharathiya Jana Sangh in South India.He is also one among the founding figures of BJP along with Vajpayee and Adwani.


 


It was his brain behind Intellectual Cells of the BJP on Economic, Defence and Foreign Affairs which started in 1983.He played a vital role in spreading BJP in south India.


 


Jana Krishnamurthy is admired in political circles as one of the cleanest politician of the era who  maintained a immaculate life style of financial integrity, high moral values, patriotism, functional austerity and  devotion to the ideology he believed in.
