Sarsanghachalak Sudarsanji’s Vijayadashami Speech

This year’s Vijayadashami, falling in the year of Pooja Guruji’s birth centenary year has a special significance as it coincides with the 150 th year of the First War of Independence of 1857, the birth centenary of revolutionary leader Sardar Bhagat Singh, 136th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi and the Golden Justice year of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s conversion to Buddha Dharmma.

Shri Guruji had offered respectful homages to the revolutionaries of our independence struggle, to Mahatma, Gandhi and to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. He had personal contacts with both these great personalities who admired in work of the Rashtriya Swayamseavak Sangh for its discipline and total absence of untouchability. It is because of this that when the RSS was banned, by falsely implicating it is the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, that Dr. Babasaheb played an important role in getting it lifted.

The RSS has dedicated this birth centenary year of Shri Guruji centenary for social harmony. Special meetings of different caste and religious leader, are being organised in different parts of the country with very encouraging results.

The time horizon for a politicians is from election to election, for a statesman from decade to decade and for a social reformer from century to century. We are witnessing the good fruits of work done by the social reformers of the last 20 th Century. But the politicians have their gaze fixed only on the next elections, which are being held after every one or two years nowadays. All their attention in concentrated in keeping their vote-banks intact, as also increase it, and in doing so they utter and do such things which have an adverse impact on the unity and integrity of the country. For e.g. – to give a clean-chit to SIMI or pampering Asad Madani, the perpetrater of Mumbai serial blasts in 1993, for his fatwa in their favour.

Suicides of the formers has become a very grave concern and the Union Agriculture Minister had in the last Loksabha given in number to have reached 1 lakh 12 thousand. But without going deep into the actual causes the governments think that by subsidies they have done their duty. With corruption everywhere that subsidy also does not reach the right persons. Continuously decreasing fertility of the soil due to unbridled use of chemical fertilizers, increasing financial investments, not getting remunerative prices, continuing slaughter of the cow and its progeny which are the store house of bio-fertilizers as also bio-gas, are some of the reasons which are driving the farmers to commit suicide. But nobody has time enough to go into these details.

It is really surprising that the technique of converting plastic waste, which has become a scourge throughout the world today, invented by a scientist (Prof. Alka Jhadgaokar) in Nagpur, and even after its appreciation by the Hon. President of India, is being ignored perhaps because of bureaucratic wranglings or vested interests of a section of them. However, it is heartening that the Chhattisgarh Govt. has initiated the project of extracting bio-diesel from Jatropha and all the vehicles of the government are successfully using it.

Some of the public servants are not above board. Recently a police station officer and a four constables have been indicted by the TADA court for fecililating the transport of RDX and ammunition from Shekhadi in Raigad district to Mumbai for a consideration of a few lakhs. Certain military secrets have been passed to America by some Naval officers and RAW personnel. These are all acts of treason putting the security of the country in peril.

Every country carries on its activities, espionage or otherwise, keeping its national interest uppermost. Individualistic and consumerist U.S.A. is trying to corner as much of the resources of the world as possible for its for its insatiable consumption. It has created a band of ‘Economic hit-men’ who are sent to underdeveloped countries to goad them to accept huge amounts of loan for infra-structure development and when they are not able to repay the debt they are made to accept such conditions which ultimately benefit U.S.A. and its agencies, and reduce the recipient countries to utter destitution.

Today, however the U.S.A. is the most indebted country in the world and her trade deficit is ever increasing. 70% of the savings of the Asian countries like Bharat, China and Japan are loaned to U.S.A. against her securities to the tune of 1500 billion dollars. Even then, in her ambition to keep up the facade of being the most powerful country in the world, she is trying to ensnare Bharat also. On the one hand she promises to help Bharat securing a permanent seat in the U.N. Security Council and ensure uninterrupted supply of enriched uranium for her atomic-power reactors, on the other, in the bill introduced in the American Congress she stipulates 15 conditions, which if accepted will make Bharat loose its independence in the field of nuclear energy. She is also trying to influence our foreign policy decisions.

To bring Pakistan at par with Bharat in the field of conventional and nuclear armaments she has sent to Pakistan the largest ever consignment of weapons worth 5.1 billion dollars. To serve her national interest, the U.S.A. on the one hand helps Pakistan to keep Bharat under control and on the other she flatters Bharat to use her against China which she fears most. U.S.A. knows only China has got the capacity to target its cities with the help of her long range missiles carrying nuclear weapons.

The most important question is whether Bharat is clear about her national interests? In Havana summit of non-aligned nations, our Prime Minister declared Pakistan a victim of terrorism, thereby, bringing the originator and perpetrator of terrorism Pakistan at par with its victim Bharat. And this also when the world has come to appreciate Bharat’s stand about Pakistan as a terrorist nation. This has brought down the credibility of Bharat.

The main reason for all this is, that due to the Macaulay’s system of education, which unfortunately is still prevalent even 68 years after our becoming Independent, we have come to believe that we are a state-nation in the process of being moulded into one nation. On the contrary all our national spiritual leaders right from Swami Vivekananda to Rishi Aurobindo and political leaders from Lal, Bal, Pal to Mahatma Gandhi, Ambedkar and Subhash, have held that ours is the ancient-most nation in the world with its lofty philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (the whole world is one family) and the principle of ‘Unity in Diversity’ in actual practice here. It is only Bharat which has risen above ‘individuality’ which is the driving force behind all other, principally the western nations, and, due to which in their grabbing spree they have endangered the life on this planet including the animal and plant life. Two wars have already been fought, the third is in the offing. It is only Bharat which can provide a sound basis for lasting peace provided she herself becomes invincible to subdue the demonic forces and encourage the divine ones.

Greeting and best wishes- Vijayadashami, Thanks for invitation. Important Annual Occasion of Shastrapooja and Sanchalan tomorrow. Consider it a personal honour. More so an honour to our Armed Forces where I had the previledge to serve the Nation nearly 40 years. An emotional moment for me- Vidarbha my Janmabhoomi. Nagpur part of early education. New English High School, City Branch Science College before NDA. First exposure to RSS- Mahal Shakha Honour occasionally to wait on P.P. Guruji.

Our first war of Independence nearly 100 Yrs. 1857-1947. Won Independence, unfortunately partition was forced on us. This laid to second war of Independence. To protect and safe guard this independence which continuing relentlessly. Fought 4 wars, 3-4 Half wars and now proxy war of insurgency. Self had previledge to take part many of these operations notably against Arch Enemy Pakistan. 1971 when we won decisive historic victory and helped create Bangladesh.

Our Armed Force have a proud record. Ever ready to defeat any external threat. Our borders secure in their hands. Must preserve their apolitical and professional character. Provide best armament and technology. Caste, Creed, Language, Religion must not be allowed to make any inroads to disturb cohesion and motivation of our brave Jawans. Any fissiparous moves by anyone for any reasons political grounds must be “nibbed in the bud”. For god sake do not blunt our only reliable instrument of state. Common man fully backs to Jawans- as was done recently during Kargil War. Whose moral remains very high because of this solid national base.

Our enemies have failed to achieve to their objectives by military means, have now changed their strategy and are increasing resorting to proxy war through religious terrorism. This threat is more insidious and has greater internal dynamics with external origins. Present Government, on account of their Vote Bank Compulsions, finding it difficult to handle this menace ruthlessly, consequently it is becoming easier for terrorist organizations to find local recruits and logistic support. In this situation common man has to play active role were in every citizens must treat himself as nations soldier in civil cloths. Only then the security forces will be able to eliminate this menace as was done 20 years back in Punjab where in common citizens helped us to defeat the Khalistani Threat. I was personally involved in this as a senior commander.

To face such multi-faceted threat we have to be united and strong. Well known adage “Best way to avoid war is to be prepared for it” Today the Shastrapooja is symbolic to convey our resolve and readiness to use all weapons at our command to defend out mother land and our way of life.

We all worship (secularist may not agree with this term) our Motherland. We must all collectively and individually make Bharat Mata come up to the image so graphically spelt out by great Swatantrayveer Sawarkar-
