RSS Unit Seva Bharathi to adopt flood-affected villages

Mangalore :  Seva Bharathi, a unit of RSS is to adopt some of the villages of North Karnataka badly affected by floods. In this connection a meet was organized at Karnataka Bank Auditorium, Kodialbail in the city. S R Rangamurthy welcoming the gathering informed Seva Bharathi has joined hands with the government in helping those hit by the flood disasters in North Karnataka. They have planned to help these victims of circumstances by adopting some villages and building houses over there, for them. He also explained the working procedure of the association by helping out in times of disasters by being there at the right time.

Santhosh, Secretary, BJP Organizing Committee, explaining the work process of Seva Bharathi stated that RSS jointly with its sister association will be completing the work pertaining to the building foundation in five villages, by the first week of December. After which Seva Bharathi is going to be laying the foundation stone for houses in other villages too, he added. Seva Bharathi has signed a MOU with government in building disaster resistant houses as per government project plans and specifications. Government has given 30*50 sites for each house. Within these parameters and boundaries only, houses are going to be built by the association. The cost of each house is estimated to be anywhere between Rs. 1.20 lakhs to Rs 1.30 lakhs. This amount is to be collected by the members of RSS on behalf of Seva Bharathi. Each and every penny collected as corpus fund will be used for the victims as disaster benefits, such is the dedication of the association members and volunteers, stated Santhosh, extolling his party workers.

Kalladka Dr Prabhakar Bhatt, speaking on the occasion praised the sincere efforts of the volunteers of RSS in helping during times of disasters. According to him collecting a sum of Rs. 2000 Crore in a day, is indeed a great achievement on part of the Chief Minister. This was possible only through the good work of the government, the generosity of the people and the RSS volunteers, he lauded.

DR Vinay Hegde, Ponnuraj, DC, DK, Krishna J Palemar and M B Puranik were present on the dais, on this occasion.
