published on September 5, 2014

RSS is not a narrow minded religous organisation clarified Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat. Emphasizing that Hindutva does not echo any religion, Sarsanghchalak said that Hindutva is a cultural flow.

The RSS is being surveyed by people in many different ways. It is like those blind men gauging an elephant. People should definitely strive to get a better understanding of the organization named Rashtreeya Swayamsevak Sangh, which has been tirelessly striving since 80 years for the upliftment of society. Today there is no one who does not know Sangh. Some of it could be through bad mouthing from opponents as well. But to know Sangh in reality, it is important to come closer to the organization. What is being construed by media should not be deemed wholly as true. For this, you can rely on Sangh literature. You can get a complete understanding of Sangh through Sangh Shakhas and activists,” said Mohanji Bhagwat, during the course of his recent interactive session with eminent persons in the state capital.

“Dr Hedgewar, who had secured the first rank in medicine, was a dynamic participant in the nation’s independence struggle. Doctorji was a person who had intense interactions and exchange of ideas with national leaders like Gandhiji, Balgangadhar Tilak, VD Savarkar, Ambedkar. In 1925, he gave shape to Sangh during the struggle for independence. His aim was to revive society and engage in the task of nation building through the growth of individual,” said Sarsanghchalak stating that Sangh was omnipresent today, with its work predominant in all fields including employment, education, politics, agriculture etc.

Enumerating on the various projects handled by Sangh like goraksha (saving cows), gramaraksha (saving villages), Sarsanghchalak outlined the works of Sangh stating that “with the exception of Mizoram, every place in India has the presence of Sangh, mounting up to a lakh and thirty thousand seva centres- all this, without taking a single paise as grant from the government. None of the activists of RSS are bereft of jobs,” said Mohanji Bhagwat.
