Red carpet service for Aattukal devotees from Sevabharathi

Thiruvanantapuram: The women pilgrims who came to offer their pongala to
Attukalamma were pleased to receive the care and attention showered upon them by the various social organisations under the leadership of Seva Bharati, the social service wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.


 


The Seva Bharati had organised 12 service camps in prominent places like the Attukal temple premises, Tambanoor,East Fort,Pazhavangadi etc. They also arranged 12 ambulances for the pilgrims under the control of Dr.Prasanna Murthy. Besides this, there were 4 clinic operating along with hundreds of volunteers to help the needy pilgrims.


 


The Police department had deployed 2500 police personnels on the occasion of the Attukal Pongala. Out of this 400 were women police. The city police commisioner K.Padmakumar and DGP Raman Srivastava were present at the pongala premises to make sure no untoward incidents take place. The KSRTC operated special bus services also. So also hundreds of waste collectors were mobilised to make sure the whole area remain neat and clean. The mild rainfall acted as a gift of Attukalamma to cool down the rising temperature in the month of March
