Ram Sethu-The bridge across faith

Either our so called mythology writers had great vision, engineering feats and satellite capacity to write about the Ram Sethu or they pulled a fast one by mentioning the bridge in the Ramayana. What ever said, the Ram Sethu is now a reality. Known by its more famous English name the Adam’s Bridge, this bridge has now become a thorn in the flesh for the Indian government.

The English who came to rule over the country clearly saw and understood the importance of the bridge in the minds of the Hindus and what it meant for the people of India. This is why they have renamed it with the name of their first man on earth, Mr. Adam. The missionaries claim that Sri Lanka is the biblical Paradise to where Adam was banished. So the name Adam’s bridge. Not explaining why his decendents are dark complexion compared to the rest of the flock as per the bible!!! Further fails to explain if Adam actually took the bridge to Sri Lanka while being expelled from Paradise ( in this case the Paradise would be Bharath!! )

These pictures are not new infact way back in 1993 it began its circulation. It was also noted then that after over 35 years the west finally changed their description of the bridge from “mythical bridge” to “man made bridge”.

Whether a matter of faith or not, ever since the Sethusamudram Ship Canal Project has been launched it has been facing hurdles all along. It has faced opposition from various Hindu organisations. Two dredging ships have broken down since work has begun. One ship has even sancked. A court in Rameswara has now asked to investigate the project and see if the bridge is actually linked to the Ramayana period.

Whether it is linked or not the public defiance by any government against the beliefs of a nation should be strongly protested. The judge Muhammed Abudahir, a muslim, but has not put an order to stop work on the site. While the government claims that it saw no traces of any bridge, the two pettionars Kuppu Ra and RSS functonary Swami Omkarananda have claimed other wise. They have brought forward the satellite photographs and statements from scientists who are ready to back the claim.
