NAGPUR : The three-day Rashtriya Swsayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) which begins here from March 16, is likely to adopt a resolution urging the good, sensible people to come forward to thwart a ny attempt to divide the society in the name of water sharing, language, boundary disputes etc.

This was disclosed by RSS All India Prachar Pramukh Dr Manmohan Vaidya here at Reshambag today. Dr Vaidya was interacting with journalists on the eve of the three-day mega event of RSS in which over 1400 representatives drawn from all over the country, and senior functionaries of the organization are expected to participate.

Dr Vaidya said that it has been observed during the recent past that attempts were being made to divide the society and people in the name of water sharing or boundaryh disputes or languages. This would prove detrimental to the unitiy and integrity of the country. The RSS believes that we are one country-one people and as such would appeal to the sensible sections of the society to become pro-active and come forward and initiate steps to frustrate such attempts. He cited the attempts made by RSS activists in case of dispute over Mullaperiyar dam between Kerala and Tamil Nadu in the recent past.

Another issue that would be deliberated at length would be celebration of 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda during 2013-14 under the aegis of Vivekananda Kendra. 2012 will be devoted for the preparations of this 150th birth anniversary programs on a national scale, he said. The umbrella body called Swami Vivekananda Sardhashati Samaroh Samiti would be formed to conduct the year-long celebrations, he added.

The ABPS will be electing a new Sarkaryawah of RSS for the next three year term, Dr Vaidya said adding that the election might take place on March 17 or 18th.

The meeting is being attended by senior functionaries of various organizations of the Sangh Parivar also.
