‘Peace’ Conference to cause disharmony cancelled, Massive protest against Zakir Naik today

published on December 2, 2012

Owing to the agitation initiated by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) with Ganesha-devotees, pro-Hindu activists besides Shiv Sena and their strong opposition, a program called ‘Peace Conference’ being organised by Hindu-hater Dr. Zakir Naik for the last 6 years on Somayya Grounds, has finally been cancelled; therefore, this year, there would not be any spitting of venom against Hindu Deities, Dharma and seats of worship from Somayya Ground.

From the year 2007, Dr. Zakir has been holding meetings under the name ‘Peace Conference’ and provoking fanatics. He had asked Somayya Trust for use of their ground between 6th and 28th December. Between 14th and 23rd December, Zakir was to deliver speeches.

Dr. Zakir had made very derogatory statements repudiating divinity of Shri Ganesh, that too during Ganesha Festival and posted the same on ‘Facebook’, a social website; thus insulting all Hindus. This created a furore amongst Hindus. Complaints were lodged with the police stations at Mumbai, Thane and New Mumbai against Dr. Zakir. Ganesha –devotees and pro-Hindu organisations had demanded with the police and Somayya Trust that Zakir should be arrested immediately and permission granted for holding his program on Somayya grounds should be cancelled.

Somayya Trust received more than 40 letters from pro-Hindu activists; therefore, the permission granted to Zakir to use their grounds has finally been withdrawn under pressure. President Samir Somayya of Somayya Trust initially avoided talking about the issue. After more probing, he said, “This is a controversial subject and we do not want to get involved in the same; therefore, we would not come before media and say much on the topic.”

Diatribe against Hindus in Hindustan by Zakir Naik  has created a wave of anger amongst Hindus all over the country and intense demonstrations will be held on Monday, 3rd December 2012 at 4.00 p.m. outside Government Rest House near District Collector’s office at Thane (W) demanding withdrawal of the permission granted to Zakir Naik for holding the meeting and his arrest by filing case of treason against him.

After the demonstrations, delegation of pro-Hindu activists will meet the District Collector and Police Commissioner to submit a representation. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has made an appeal to all Hindus for participating in the demonstrations in large number.
