Panicky Karunanidhi bans Dr Swamy from conducting a Public meet!

Statement of Dr. Subramanian Swamy, President of the Janata Party.

            I condemn  the DMK Government for directing the Tirunelveli police to deny permission to hold  a public meeting that I am schedule to address on December 9th. 

The sponsors of this meeting, the AIADMK-backed Voters’ Forum, informed me today that they have received a one line letter from the police saying that the permission is denied due to the “apprehension of law and order”. 

This clearly shows that the DMK Administration is either mis-using its authority to suppress the Opposition from expressing its views or the DMK Government has lost control over the State and cannot carry on the administration according to the provisions of the Constitution of India.

In either case I demand that the Centre dismiss the Tamil Nadu Government and impose President’s rule under Article 356 of the Constitution till the General Elections to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly scheduled for April, 2011.

It is quite clear that Karunanidhi is panicky that his party will lose the elections if the truth about the 2G Spectrum Scam  and his share in the loot becomes known to the public.

The denial of permission to hold the  public meeting is the first indication that the DMK and its allies expect to lose the 2011 elections and the Opposition will form a corruption-free Government in the State.
