Even the person, who supplies groceries and other item to the nunnery, is alleged to have abused her verbally both in person and over phone, along with making efforts in trying to ensnare her in controversial issues.

“Following a complaint made by Sr Jaya to a Women’s Help Group, the man was forced to tendera written apology. But soon another inmate from the nunnery appeared, who one day intimidated Sr Jaya. She threatened her of dire consequences of she did not withdraw from her activity of protesting against the ongoing issues, failing which she would earn the same fate as that of Sr Abhaya,” states sources.

However, in spite of making a complaint about the same to Mother Superior, Sr Jaya had to endure more hardships and tortures. “As a human being, she even feared loss of her sense of security. This is what prompted her to alert her family members, which made them take her back home,” say sources.

It has also been learnt that under such circumstances, where there is a threat to life, along with the endurance of humiliation, there would be little help or solace from the sabha, Sr Jaya has taken the decision to abdicate her life as nun.
